MADISON, FL – North Florida College offers a Dual Enrollment program that allows students to earn college credits while still in high school and at no cost.
The NFC Office of Dual Enrollment is proud to feature outstanding Sentinels who are
nominated by their respective high school guidance counselors.
For April, NFC spotlights Wesley Hearn from Point of Grace Christian School in Perry,
Florida. He took a moment in between his high school and NFC commitments to respond
to our interview:
Why did you choose to dual enroll at NFC?
I chose to dual enroll at NFC to get a head start on my future through hands-on training
in the welding program.
Which class have you enjoyed the most at NFC?
I’ve enjoyed working toward my welding certification the most, especially advancing
into higher-level welding where I can continue to challenge myself and grow my skills.
How is NFC helping you reach your goals?
NFC is helping me reach my goals by giving me real-world experience and a strong foundation
in welding that I can build on in my career.
What are your goals after high school?
After high school, I plan to continue advancing my welding certifications and build
a career that also includes land clearing.
Who at NFC has inspired you the most?
My welding instructor, Johnny Young, has inspired me the most by pushing me to improve
and take pride in my work.
One word to describe your Dual Enrollment experience:
Impactful
NFC offers dual enrollment to students in Hamilton, Jefferson, Lafayette, Madison,
Suwannee, and Taylor counties. A new dual enrollment student is featured each month,
