Department Assessment

Departmental Assessment is a collaborative process where departments honestly review what’s working, learn from challenges, and share both successes and struggles.

Departmental assessment is used to:

  • Helps us reflect on what’s working and what can improve
  • Guides our decisions with real insights
  • Highlights opportunities for growth
  • Let’s us focus on priorities that matter most
  • Supports our requests for resources thoughtfully
  • Encourages efficiency and effectiveness
  • Reinforces that improvement, not perfection, is the goal

Departments at North Florida College are assessed on a biennial cycle.

Prog Assessment

Program Assessment is the systematic process used to evaluate how well an entire academic program (like Nursing, Business, Biology, or Criminal Justice) is meeting its goals and helping students achieve intended learning outcomes.

Program assessment ensures:

  • Degrees are meaningful and relevant
  • Students graduate with needed skills
  • Institutions meet accreditation and accountability standards
  • Continuous improvement is happening over time

Points of Pride

The Points of Pride report showcases the key achievements of each department and program over the past assessment cycle. These are the highlights each department or program selected to share with the campus community. Each accomplishment reflects the faculty and staff's commitment to excellence and contributions to NFC.
