Open Door Grant

The 2024-2025 Open Door Grant supports your pursuit of in-demand career and technical education programs at NFC. 

If eligible, you may receive tuition funding for the following workforce programs:

  • CDL Class A
  • Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Correctional Officer (Traditional Correctional BRTP)
  • Crossover from Correctional Officer to Law Enforcement Officer
  • Crossover from Law Enforcement Officer to Correctional Officer
  • Fundamental Foodservice Skills
  • Welding Technology

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You have applied to NFC and intend to register in an eligible program
  • You currently are classified as a State of Florida resident and have resided in Florida for at least one year.
  • You are aware that Open Door funds are applied after federal and state grants, or third-party payments, to cover a maximum award equal to the amount needed to cover 100% of tuition and fees, exam costs, books, and supplies, subject to availability of funding.
  • The Open Door Grant funds are first come first serve. 

3 Steps to Apply for the Open Door Grant:

  1. Apply for admission to NFC
  2. Register/Plan to Register in eligible program
  3. Complete the 2024-2025 Open Door Grant Application
    (NOTE: Spring 2025 application period closes Jan. 6, 2025)
